Introducing Our Free Business Valuation Tool for M&A

    4 August 2026 5 min read

Most business owners have no idea what their company is actually worth. They have a number in their head, or a number a friend gave them at a braai. That is how good businesses end up being sold far too cheaply, and how good deals fall apart before they start.

So we built something to fix that. Our free business valuation tool gives you an indicative value range for your business in a few minutes. No cost, no obligation, and no need to speak to anyone first.

    What the tool actually does

You enter a handful of numbers about your business — turnover, profit, the industry you operate in, and how much of the business depends on you personally. The tool then applies the earnings multiples that buyers in South Africa are genuinely paying in your sector, and returns a value range: a conservative figure, a likely figure, and a stretch figure.

It takes about three minutes. You get the result on screen immediately, and a copy you can keep.

Why a range, not one number

No business has a single correct price. What a buyer pays depends on how clean the numbers are, how much of the business survives without the owner, whether the contracts and leases transfer, and how many buyers are at the table. A range tells you the truth: here is the floor, here is the fair middle, and here is what is achievable if the business is properly prepared before it goes to market.

    Who should use it

    • Owners thinking about selling in the next one to three years and wanting a realistic starting point.
    • Owners who have received an offer and want to know whether it is fair before they respond.
    • Buyers sanity-checking an asking price before spending money on due diligence.
    • Partners splitting up, or shareholders pricing a buy-out internally.
    • Owners planning ahead, who want to know which improvements will move the value most.

    What it is not

This is an indicative valuation, not a formal valuation report for a court, a bank or the tax authority. It is designed to give you a fast, honest sense of where you stand so you can make a decision about what to do next. If you need a full report or you are taking the business to market, we do that as a separate fixed-fee engagement.

How it fits into our M&A service

We keep the process simple and the fees fixed. Valuation is the first step. From there you can see the full M&A process — how a mandate works, how buyers are approached confidentially, and exactly what it costs. Our M&A engagement is a fixed R45,000 engagement fee plus a 3% success fee on completion. No hourly billing and no surprises.
